Under VA Diagnostic Code 7522, service-connected ED is commonly rated at 0% while still qualifying for SMC-K (loss of use of a creative organ) when supported by the evidence.
ED affects roughly half of Veterans over 40, but most never even bring it up. This is a starting point. No appointment, no sign-up, nothing shared.
It isn’t a sign of lost interest. And it isn’t “getting older.” ED is a medical signal. The body is telling you something about the systems underneath. The good news is ED is also one of the most treatable conditions and the first step is naming it.
There are three broad categories. Most Veterans have something in two or all three of them at the same time. Don’t try to diagnose yourself—just see which ones sound familiar.
The first in the External Erectile Device – Penile Rigidity Support (EEAD-PRS) category, Eddie is an easy-to-use, non-pharmacological treatment for erectile dysfunction. An FDA Class II medical device, it is available without a prescription, helping Veterans get back to a fulfilling sex life without the side effects of traditional ED pills.
Search by condition or medication to identify potential connections and generate a report to discuss with your VSO or healthcare provider.
VSOs are accredited Veterans who help other Veterans navigate VA claims, benefits, and appeals. They’re free. They sit across the table from you. And they know how it all works.
