It might seem complicated, but all you need to do is follow these three steps. Make sure you are direct and honest when discussing ED with the provider. Many Veterans minimize symptoms or avoid the conversation altogether, which can prevent proper diagnosis, documentation and treatment.
Clearly describe your ED symptoms and when they began. The goal is to help your provider document the ED itself, when it began, and what may be contributing to it.

Make sure you specifically ask about Eddie as a treatment option by saying something like:
Suggested Statement
"Erectile dysfunction is a medical condition that requires treatment and I want my ED treated with Eddie, an FDA Class II medical device. It is on contract with the VA and available through FSS, ECAT and SING. I don't want to take more medication due to the side effects. Pumps (VEDs) are ineffective and painful."
Ask your provider to check if Eddie is in stock. If Eddie is not available locally, ask your provider to contact the VA Prosthetics Department.
Prosthetics teams utilize standard VA procurement channels (ECAT/ECMS) to place official orders directly on behalf of Veterans.
